Happy New Year Everyone, Could one of you very kind people help me find the name of the farm that my grandparents lived on, in the birth and christening record of my grandmother Kjerstin Tohlsdatter? I can see that her father's name was Tohl Nilsson and her mother's name was Ilin Andersdatter, and that she was born on the 13th and christened on the 17th of August. I will attached the image for entry #42 so you can see it. Tack så mycket! This is exactly what I have been wanting to find, so I can get a better idea of how close the different branches of my Swedish family lived. Thank you so much Klas. I thought I saw her in the same Household examination, but then I got worried that I made a mistake. No wonder I couldn't figure out a farm name! I have added härstädes to the Swedish words I need to learn. Thank you so much again! I really appreciate it!

My great great aunt Maria (born 30 November 1837) was born illegitimately. The is an extensive note in the parents section of her birth record that I would appreciate help reading. I have attached the image and here is the link to the record:

I am hoping you can help me read a few words from the Strängnäs Husförhörslängder. Here's the link to the page:

I am having difficulty reading:
1. Carl Gustaf Stare's home parish.
2. The words written before Stina Lisa's name. She was illegitimate and I believe this
refers to that fact.
3. The surname for Maria, who was also illegitimate.
4. The remarks for Carl Gustaf. I believe they refer to another woman he was married
to in 1830-1831.
5. The words in parentheses above Carl Gustaf's name.
I really appreciate the help.

I just wanted to add my thanks as well Åke. Members of my family have been looking for a particular great-grandmother for at least 60 years, with no luck. Your tip helped us break down a wall that has been blocking our genealogical research for longer than I have been alive I agree with Jay. Your tip was more than helpful. It was a revelation. Hello, Could someone please help read the farm name after my great grandmother's name in her marriage record? I can read that it says Groom: Elof Ersson of Rombotten and bride Kjerstin Tolsdatter, and I can tell the farm name ends in boda, but I cannot read the beginning part.  The wedding took place in Stavnäs, but the couple lived in Värmskog. Tack så mycket för hjälpen!

I just found out that it probably can't be the Olof christened in 1760 in Högerud because his parents christened another Olof 10 years later in 1770. Does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks for your reply Maud. My problem now is that I cannot find any Olof Olofsson's born in 1760 and christened in Stavnäs. I found one christened at the church in Högerud in September of 1760, although I can't see any mention of Stavnäs in that record. I guess that must be him because all of the other Olof Olofsson's were christened in parishes much further away: Eda, Boda, Gåsborn, or Övre Ullerud. I am trying to find the family in husförhörslängder. Thanks for your help.

Hello Experts! I need help reading a little abbreviation indicating where my great-grandfather was born. He was working at his future father-in-law's farm at the time, but I cannot tell where he was born. Could you please tell me what that little squiggle next to the purple arrow, by Olof Olsson's name means? Tack så mycket!
