Looking for family members of the family of Harling.
Grandad was Charles Frederick Harling born Aug 7 1846, who came to Canada when he was in his teens with brothers Charles married here in Canada  
and looking for his brothers names and more of where he came from in Sweden.  
Charles father was John Peter Harling, not sure of his wife's name.

In Emigranten I found Harling, Carl F, 23 year, Norrköping parish, Östergötland, travelled from Gotenburg to Marengo 1870 April 15. Profession: Kopparslagare = coppersmith.
 
In the database of PLF I found a lot of Harling's in Västervik and surroundings.

Hallo. My name is Ingegerd Harling. My grandfather was born in Västra Harg, Östergötland. His name was John Vilhelm Harling, born 1877 and his vife Ottilia Elisabeth (Betty) was born in Askeby also in Östergötland. It is in not far from Norrköping. And his parents came from Linköping (if I remember ) My fathers Uncle Ruben Harling emigrated to Amerika. John Harlings parents was August Harling and his vife Augusta. August was born in Hof in Östergötland. August fathers name was Andreas ( Anders ) Erson-Harling and was born in Strå in Östergötland 1792. I dont know if this what yuo are looking for, but they comes from the same region, and at that time was the name not so usuall.

These are some of the Harling's I've found in Östergötland, mainly in the area of Linköping but some of them came there from Norrköping.

August came to Lnköpings Domk.fs. from Norrköpings Sf in 1864. His wife came from St. Åby in 1873 when tey got married. In 1876 when they had only their first daughter Rode (sometimes Rhode) they left Linköping to Västra Harg. The family came back from Västra Harg to Linköping in 1888, on April 27.

This family came also to Linköpings Domk. fs. from Norrköpings Sf, but one year before August, i.e. in 1863. Further, they lived at the same place as August and his family and they were both tailors. Difficult to avoid the conclusion that August and Wilhelm were brothers.

After Berhardinas death and just a year before both his daughters passed away, Otto Bernhard Harling got married in 1868 with:

Samuel Peter came from Skeda to Linköping in 1833 and left for Rystad parish in 1839. Ther he got married and also the first daughter. In 1840 they left for Askeby parish were they got their first son. They lived in Lilla Greby in this same parish. They continued to Gårdeby parish in 1842, later Östra Ryd and then back to Askeby in 1844. Last record I found tell that they left again in 1845 this time to Gistad. Samuel was born in Vikingstad, son of Peter Harling b. 8/9/1783 and Anna Catharina Hellström b. 19/8/1777. His father had been married before with Maja Persdotter b. in 1782, who died 5/1/1810. They had at least one daughter, Anna Stina b. 21/9/1806
 
Samuel had also a brother, Johan Fredric b. 10/4/1815 who died when he was barely 2 years old.
 
 
Widow Catharina Charlotta Harling b. 1762 living at Stora Folåsa, Rappestad parish from 1816 to 1821 with two daughters, Christina Sophia b. 10/5/1792 and Nora Lovisa b. 22/5/1794

I am still looking for John Peter Harling born? in Sweden and his wife.
His son Charles Frederick Harling born August 7 1846 Sweden He also had a brother would like to find Charles came to Canada when he was in his Teens with his brother but never heard where his family settled.
It is nice to know other families of Harling Where I grew up there was only one other Harling who never married but not related to us that I know.

My name is Emma Harling and my dads name is Hans Christer Patrik Harling, he's born on the 5th of april, 1954. His father is Hans Robert Viktor Harling, and he was married to Manja Öberg.
They had two children together, Boel and my dad, Christer.
 
Hans Robert Viktor was born on the 23d of september, 1910. His parents were Patrik Harling and Emma Söderström. Emma was from Norrköping, I don't know about Patrik.

I must mention for you that it was common that the emmigrants changed their names from Carl to Charles when they moved from Sweden to USA or Canada.

Maybe that is the Charles Frederick Harling you are looking for.

Regarding the CD for southern part of Stockholm Patrik was working as a teacher at Långholmen.
 
Patrik Robert Harling born 18.11.1861 in Norrköpings Hedvig, Östergötland county.
He came from Waxholm to Långholmen 8.10.1889 from Waxholm.
Then he married
Karolina Maria Lindeberg born 11.3.1870 in Vederslöv, Kronobergs county
Children
Fritz Patrik Emanuel Harling born 29.8.1892 in Maria parish, Stockholm died 15.8.1897 in Maria. Endocarditis
Signe Maria Teodora Harling born 9.11.1894 in Maria, Stockholm
The family moved to Norrköping 8.6.1898
 
Patrik came back in 1824 from Linköping. This time as a governor
