Attached is an image of a record from the Brandstad 1788 tax registry. These are the first two entries from number 25 Brandstad. The two entries are for the Torkelssons.
I believe the first one says the following:
Nils Torkelsson, wife, Ola ...
I am not sure what it says after Ola and it looks like the last name in that line is Giertru and child
I believe the next line says the following:
Torkel Olsson age 79, wife age 75, Pal Torkelsson, Ola ...
I think the last entry is the name of a daughter. There is also a note at the far right.
Here is the link to the page on the Swedish National Archives

Can any one confirm what I have and fill in what I am missing? I am most interested in knowing if it says Giertru in the first line and it she has a child.
Thanks,
George

Hi again George!
I think it says;
Nils Törkelsson, wife, d, Ola 23 year, p, Malena, Giertru, one child
old Törkel Olsson 79 years, wife 75 years, Isak Törkels, Ola Åkesson, daughter Karen.
d means dräng and p piga and that could be either a rural worker or a child to the farmer. In this case I think that means a rural worker but I am not sure. I do not know if Ola Åkesson has married Törkels daughter Karen or if Ola is a dräng and she is Olas daughter.
