Titel: Searching for relatives in Sweden
Skrivet av: Dianne Cushing skrivet 2019-01-09, 17:34
Hoping to contact relatives who are still living in Sweden of Otto Petterson (Lindblom) b. 1862 Langserud, Varmland and Britta Andersdotter b. 1866 Hackas Gruben.    They emigrated to Minnesota USA then Canada (Whitehawk NWT now Preeceville, Sask.) in 1891.  Planning a trip to Sweden this year and would love to meet.  Their descendants have had several family reunions here in Canada.

Thank you for your reply Bertola.
Yes, and a brother C(K)arl came also.   Brothers August b. April 1847, Johannes b Oct 1848 and Franz b. Dec 1865 and sister Karolina b. 1859 stayed in Sweden.  It is their descendants I am searching for.
I received a lot of information in 1985 and on from Kent Anderson who did research for me.

Thank you Bertola.  I am really hoping to make contact with someone in my generation.  Maybe I have the wrong forum?  I am not fluent in Swedish, just know a few rhymes my mother taught us.  It has been my dream since I was a child to go to Sweden where my grandparents were from.  That wish is to come true for me and a few others.  Hoping to find a relative over there.

I guess you already have names, birthdate and birthplace for descendants, but you want contact information for them or their children?

I would like information on living descendants, anyone from Sweden who would be related to us.  Would like to make our trip there as memorable as possible.  To meet a real relative, one living in Sweden, would be wonderful. I wasn't sure if I was using this as the correct forum, but I had to find out.  Thank you for you help.  It is much appreciated. I don't have any information for Descendants of any of the boys who stayed in Sweden.  Karolina would most likely have married, but I have no idea how to contact any of her family.  Is there another way I should be working on  this problem?

If you don't know anything already there is no other method than to follow persons forward generation for generation until you reach present time.  I start with August, born 1847-04-03.
August Andersson Lindblom lives around 1890 in Tegelbruket in Sunne AI:11 (1884-1894) Bild 2180 / sid 211 (AID: v115291.b2180.s211, NAD: SE/ÖLA/11096). He moves 1892 to America, three children also moves to America 1893. His wife and the rest of the children then lives in Selånger and all of them move to America in 1897. Thus none of his descendants live in Sweden? Did you already know this?
