General questions / Carl Niclas Rehnstrahl b.1684
« skrivet: 2018-09-14, 21:25 »
I'm searching any kind of information about Captain Carl Niclas Rehnstrahl who obviously was born in Stralsund in 1684.

He had four children (at least) with Christina Catharina Ekfelt who was born in 1686 herself.
All of their children - of which the first one was born the 9th of september in 1720- were born in Ålspånga, Bettna, Södermanland. Carl Niclas served the army in Södermanlands Regemente I think.

I would appreciate any information about Rehnstrahl's ancestry very much. Do you think his family name was some kind of "soldier name"?

Best,
Elias

Hey!

I’m searching information about a person named Hans Holsman who was born in 1727 according to some Finnish military rolls. Some documents mention him to have been born in 1732.
His familyname varies in different documents between Holsman, Holtzman, Haltzman, Haldtzman and Halsman..

He lived most of his life in Ristiina (Kristina) in Finland. Hans came from
Stockholm in Finland  when he was still pretty young. He  was serving in Savolax infanteriregementes Livkompani from 1746 onwards.

I don’t know when and where he met his wife Maria Treffenberg, but his wife was born in Finland anyway and their first child Erik Johan Holsman was born in Helsingfors 6th of march 1752 and they had many more children later.

About two years ago I was searching Hans with a help of familysearch.org and I found out that there was born some Hans Holsman in Svea livgardes grenadjärbataljon in Stockholm 23.6.1727.
I would appreciate a lot if some of you could figure out if this Hans might be the same person who moved later in Finland.
And I would be also very interested in his roots; Where his parents came from etc..
What do you think about his familyname? Was the name Holsman common in Sweden those days? Probably german roots?

If my ancestor Hans Holsman is the same than the one who was born in 1727 in Grenadjärbataljon in Stockholm, then his parents were Jons Haltzman and Stina Andersdotter Halling.
So, i’m basically looking for clues about this Jons Haltzman and his roots.
But all information about his son Hans will be also highly appreciated!
First of all would be important to know if I’m searching documents about the right person.

Best regards,

E. Trygg

Hi everyone!

I'm trying to find my ancestor's, Adolph Procopé's parents but unfortunately haven't succeed to find any clue about his birth.

He came to Finland (Ristiina to be more precise) from Sweden during years 1757-1758 and he had already four children with Catharina Elisabet Rehnstrahl who was born 9.9.1720 in Ålspånga, Bettna, Sweden. Children' names were Andreas, Maria Elisabet, Carl Gustaf and Gotthard Adolf. Maroa Elisabeth och Carl Gustaf were born in Stavhälla, Västra Vingåker.

Adolph Procopé worked as a sergeant in Finland and there is a mentioning in the Finnish military archives that he came from Sweden and was born in 1717.
He also left back to Sweden in 1793.
His last child Gabriel Erik Procopé was born in May 1757 already in Finland.

I would appreciate very much if some of you could help me to figure out who were Adolph Procopé's parents! :)

Some information about him I have found:

Efterträddes 22/8 1755 vid Östra Rekarne kompani, Södermanlands regemente, av sin svåger Jöns Fredrik Silfwerbrand. "Rulla över Befälskårerna vid Sveriges Armé och Flotta 1755"/Ulla Johanson 1976. Bosatt på Stavhälla i Västra Vingåker.

Best, Elias Trygg
