I believe I've found the birth record of my 3rd great grandmother Ingeborg Samuelsdotter!  I had been searching in Odensvi, Kalmar for quite a while but this may be her in Blackstad, Dec 1, 1732.  Could someone translate it for me?  Blackstad, Kalmar SE/VALA/00035/C/1 (1715-1758) Bild 47 / Sida 78

I am hoping someone could help me with a marriage record.  It is for Erik ________ ? and Karin Carlsdotter, 21 Nov 1669.  Odensvi, Kalmar SE/VALA/00288/C/1 Bild 33 Sida 46.  Erik's surname is crossed out.  Is the word after that his correct surname or is it a place name?  Thank you very much for any help!  This is a wonderful service that has rescued me in the past and I do appreciate it.

Is it possible to read the surname of Samuel Persson's father Pår?  Also the next few words?  Hopefully it shows his occupation and the farm/village?  Odensvi, Kalmar county C/2 1688-1722 Bild 49 Sida 82

I am looking at a birth record for Elisabet Nilsdotter 9 Dec 1734, Odensvi C:4 Bild 80/Sida 146.  The name I'm concerned with is Cherstin Pårsdotter of Smaltaretorpet.  Is she listed as a witness?  The father of the child is Nils Persson of Tretorp if I am reading it correctly.  I believe Cherstin could be the sister of Nils.  Is that a good possibility?  If so then I have found her parentage as I do know his.  Cherstin/Kerstin is listed as still living in Smaltaretorpet along with spouse Samuel Persson in 1778 both at about age 75.  They are the parents of Ingaborg Samuelsdotter I think.  Ingaborg and spouse Anders Johansson raised their children there so it makes sense to me that her parents could have lived there in their old age.  Does this all sound reasonable?  Thank you for help with this.

So maybe it's a lake rather than a river!  I can't pull up the image at the moment but it's beautiful; I would love to see it in person.

Fantastic thank you!  I'll look for it now.  Yes, a distant cousin in Sweden has a pic of Smältaretorpet on Johan's page.  It's a beautiful farm on a river.

Thank you Anti!  I think Odensvi is confusing as I don't know whether they are listing the father's given name or the surname.  I do not see Erik/Erich twice.  Do you feel his name is Erik Eriksson?  Sorry for the rookie question.

Thank you Per Eriksson!  I found it here: ArkivDigital: Ingatorp (F) C:5 (1745-1779) Image: 159 Page: 309.  It's in the birth record of his daughter Sara Persdotter (or should I use Pettersdotter?).

Leif, you were right - more details are revealed later.  I was able to verify the death record I found was actually for the right person.  Ingaborg Samuelsdotter died at Hårfva, Lofta 14 Aug 1794 just before the birth of her twin grandchildren.  And I'm hoping that more searching might help find her birth record.  Thank you!

Yes, they were married 8 Oct 1758 (Odensvi C:4 Bild 28 page 45). Some of them are still there at Bild 142 page 271. I found the birth records for the children including son Johan/Jaen and have no problem with later records.  But have had difficultly finding anything about mother Ingeborg anywhere.  And I realize we may never know but thought I would see if anyone else had some resources I do not have.

I have followed the family of Ingaborg and Anders at Smältaretorpet, Odensvi but I have not found her birth record yet.  Odensvi AI:6 page 323 does list a Samuel Persson and Kierstin Persdotter (?) at Smältaretorpet, both age 75, but I do not know if they are her parents.

Hello,
I've been trying to find the birth record of my 4th great-grandmother Ingaborg Gustafsdotter in Odensvi where her spouse Anders Johansson (1731) was born to no avail.  Now I believe I may have found her in Gamleby, born 8 Feb 1734 (or the 6th?), Gamleby C:3, page 235, the father Samuel Samuelsson.  Could anyone tell me if this is likely the mother of Jaen Andersson (1763) of Smältaretorpet, Odensvi?  Also, if this is correct, is Ingaborg's mother Brita Pårsddotter and does it list a location for the parents?
Thanks for any help,
Pamela

Hi, I hope someone can help with the father's surname in the birth record for Anna Maja Abramsdotter in Mönsterås (H) C:5 page 57.  I don't think it's a name I've seen before.  Also what is the faint writing after the mother Stina Nilsdotter's name that is followed by '1807'?  Is that the year of death for Stina?
Thanks for any help.

Hello!
My 4th ggmother Catharina Andersdotter was married in Västrum 12 Nov 1775 to Daniel Johansson (Jansson, born in Loftahammar) and the marriage record lists her at Österbo, Västrum (birth place?).  I do not find her there and most of the Catharinas born in that area around 1755/56 do not work out.  She had 2 children, Catherina and Anna Liskin and then died 5 Mar 1781 at Händelöp, Västrum at about age 25.  Is it possible she was born 22 Aug 1755 in Hjorted to Anders Sunesson and Annika Andersdotter?  This couple is then listed in Mjöshult, Västrum in 1766 without children, then in 1767 and 1771 with children including a Catherina whose age is off by 2 yrs.  There is also an Anders and Anna listed in Österbo, Västrum in AI:1 page 55 but no dates and I couldn't read the last name. Thanks for any help.

Hi, I'd like to know if anyone could explain why my 3rd great grandmother had the name Pelander when her father was Anders Andersson.  I found her birth record (Södra Vi H C:4 1800-1827 pg 13) and based on the date of birth am fairly sure this is our Gustafva.  I have not yet found her in the household exam records.  Thank you.
