Järnboås C:3 (1717-1774) - Translation

There is another word I can't translate clearly and would greatly appreciate help deciphering in my research. On image 172 (no page number), recording the birth of Anna Ericsdotter on March 23, 1771; and on image 182, recording the birth of Margreta Ericsdotter on March 1, 1774, there is a title before the name of the father, Eric Frantsson. It looks like Grävfogden or Gravfogden, which I suppose could be the grave or digging warden or bailiff? Or might it be Grossfogden, and if so, I wonder what type of warden or supervisor that might be. It doesn't look like Kronofogde or any other title I have heard of before. Thank you for any guidance, which is very much appreciated. -John

It is probably gruvfogden which means the overseer at a mine (Gruva in Swedish). Järnboås is situated in the middle Swedish district of mining - called Bergslagen.

It says Gräffogden, and it can't be a smilar ink blot at two places. But the occupation is still at the mine. My guess it's just a bit more specified, he didn't oversee everything and everyone at the mine - just the diggers.
 
So, John, I guess you are related to Eric Frantsson? I'm researching for some US relatives of mine (related through my great grandmother, their family branch is from her first marriage with a descendant of Eric Frantsson, my family branch comes from her second marriage)

John, I have now looked again at the Birth notice for Margreta Eriksdotter (Järnboås C:3 (1717-1774) Bild 182), and I am quite convinced that the title of her father is gruffogden, as I wrote above. There is a squiggle on top of the u, which shows that it is a u and not an ä.
 
I have done research in this area for years, and never seen a gräffogde, but many gruffogde (modern spelling: gruvfogde).

OK, gruffogde/gruvfogde is of course the more natural word, I won't argue with that. So it was common to write u with a squiggle on top?

Yes, that was very common, as it was easy to confuse it with for instance an n or some other letter of the same size. See Läsebok för släktforskare av Anderö-Thorsell.
