Are on-line sources available to locate bouppteckning information for my great-great grandparents who remained in Kalmar län after a son and daughter emigrated to the U.S. in 1869?  I have names, death dates, and location information for starters.  Thanks!

The bouppteckningar are microfilmed to around 1835, with variations in various legal districts (härad). Later bouppteckningar are only available through visiting the records repository, or possibly by contacting them and asking them for a copy. Unfortunately the later ones are often written on acidious paper and not allowed to be copied, due to the fact that they might fall apart if handled.

I believe the achives recently have started to take a digital photo - with lot less negative handling impact - of the relevant document, so I would say you have a good chance of getting your desired documents copied and sent to you. There is a small handling fee. Good luck! /Susanne
