Anders Johan was born 24 Oct 1851 in Gränna, Jönköping to Inga Christina Andersdatter.  The father was Lindgren (John Magnus).  What does it say about him?   Is his place of origin given?

Daraleen!

Birth record at Genline GID 1086.49.69800 states Anders Johan born out of wedlock. However father's name is given. Birth place Fallet - Inga Christina's parents place.

Household record 1851-1854 at Genline GID 1086.31.107000 gives full family data incl. information that Inga Christina came back from Stockholm in 1851 and emigrated 1853 to N. Amerika. This was also the case for her brother Carl in 1852.

Just tell me if you want help to decipher the document.

Regards

Olle

Hi Olle,

I wasn't clear enough on my first post.  I am looking for information on John Magnus Lindgren the father of Anders Johan.  I am hoping maybe the words following Lindgren tell where he was from.

It says in the birth record:

Fader uppgifves vara betjenten Lindgren hos professor Boheman i Stockholm.

Translated that would be:

Father is said to be valet Lindgren serving at professor Boheman in Stockholm.

According to the register over population in Stockholm 1850 there is a professor Carl H. Boheman in Adolf Fredrik parish in Stockholm. You will probably find Lindgren if you search in Adolf Fredrik.

A search in the register for Stockholm in  1855 shows a tobacco worker Carl Johan Magnus Lindgren in Maria parish. His birthdate was 28 Juanuary 1816. Perhaps Carl Johan Magnus is identical to the valet Johan Magnus mentioned above?

I think it was mentioned in another thread that Johan Magnus Lindgren had emigrated in 1852. I tried to find him in the 1850 and 1851 census, but no entry was quite fitting and it's always better to go to the source itself.

Hi Martin & Lena,

Thank you for the responses.  I know John Magnus Lindgren was in the US by 1854 and the 1852 date came from his naturalization papers.

Lena, I appreciate you checking the census records.  If no one responds re finding him in the Husförhörsländ in Adolf Fredrik parish in the early 1850s I will order the film thru the local LDS Family History Center.
