how would one find a list of ships sailing from the port of goteborg on 5-15-1903?

Are you aware that those feeder ships went to Hull or Grimsby in England? Then the emigrants took a train to an English port such as Liverpool or Southampton. They boarded the larger ship for the rest of the journey in that English port.

If you have that port information (Göteborg) from a lookup on the Emihamn database of CD Emigranten, send that information (including the source information, which is a series of numbers) to this email address. You will receive the name of the feeder ship plus the name of the travel agent. The travel agents tended to use particular shipping lines and that limits the number of ships you need to check sailing from England.
