I am looking for information on Herman Nyberg born 5 July 1845 Hollsten, Kyrkefalla, Skaraborg to Gustaf Nyberg and Anna Pettersson. I do not believe he left Sweden...at one time he
was living in Jonkoping. I would like to find out what happened to him. If he married, had children. Any information available is appreciated.

Thanks,
Candace

I might be interested in this as well. There might be a chance that this Herman Nyberg is a brother or cousin to Johan Nyberg who is born 1840 in Skaraborg. His daughter emigrated to US and I have a pretty good record of Johan Nyberg and the US persons.

Befolkning 1890 has no Herman born in Kyrkefalla 1845.

So it looks like he died or emigrated before 1890, or some of the information is wrong.

The household records for Kyrkefalla listed a Herman born 5 July 1845 with the children of Gustav Nyberg and Anna Lovisa Pettersson. I have information 4 of the 6 children, but had nothing more on Herman or a brother Gustav Emanuel (may have been Gustav Albert) born 6 Feb 1836. Would there be a death record file to check or an emigration recrd file that could help me with what happened to these 2? Any help or ideas would be much appreciated.

I am trying to find information about the last of my gr-grndmthr brothers, Herman Nyberg born 5 July 1845 Hollsten Kyrkefalla to Gustaf Nyberg and Anna Louise Petterson. His middle name may have been Teodor (not positive of this). He was not listed with the family in the 1860-62 records in Kyrkefalla...although the oldest brother and my gr-gran were still listed living with their widowed mother. Trying to find out if he had died young or perhaps had moved away (though he would have been only 15 to 17 at the time).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In the Kyrkefalla HFL AI:7 1852-1859 page 247 (GID 986.34.6900) at Hollsten, and moving-out records B:4 1851-1861 page 66 no 155 (GID 986.36.48800), the boy Herman Nyberg moves 14 Nov 1857 to Jönköping.

Bo,

Is it possible to check the Jonkoping records for Herman Nyberg after Nov 1857. I believe he may have went there with a sister Anna Lovisa. But it seems Anna Lovisa Nyberg returned to Kyrkefalla in 1863 and Herman does not seem to have returned with her. Maybe he settled in Jonkoping.

Thanks for all your help.

You could try checking the 1857 moving-in records for the two Jönköping parishes (GID 1153.90.70200 and 1156.2.45600).

Did Anna Lovisa Nyberg move to Jönköping? in 1859 she seems to be still in Kyrkefalla, HFL page 81 (GID 986.8.81000) at Friggesby.

Bo,

Anna Lovisa Nyberg gave birth to an illegitimate daughter 21 Sept 1863 in Kyrkefalla. She had just come back from Jonkoping before giving birth to her daughter, Ida Josephina. I'm not sure exactly when she had went to Jonkoping. The records in Kyrkefalla for 1860-62 only listed the mother Anna Pettersson, Nils Petter(Son) and my gr-grandmthr Sophia living at home. So it would seem Anna Lovisa was gone during 1860-62.

If Herman was in Jonkoping in 1857 maybe he was apprenticing..although he would have only been 12 or 13....seems too young for that doesn't it? Herman's father died in 1851.

Any ideas?

Yes, in HFL Kyrkefalla AI:8 1860-1862 page 89 (GID 986.35.20700) she moves to Jönköping 1860.

Bo,

I have good records forward on Anna Lovisa all the way to America for her and her family. I would like to know what happened to Herman Nyberg. Do the moving in records for Jonkoping after 14 Nov 1857 show who he lived with. Would a later household record maybe show a marriage and family for him? I would like to trace forward on Herman to see if I can find any of the Nyberg family in Sweden today. One of my gr-grandmthr brothers died young, one never married, so decendants would have to be from Herman or the other brother Gustaf Alfred.

Many thanks for your help, Bo.

I will try to help You but my english is not so good. Gustaf Nyberg was a painter (decorator). His father, Jonas Nyberg, and his brother Johannes Nyberg were also painters in parish Kyrkefalla.
Jonas Nyberg also had the first store in parish Kyrkefalla (about 1800).
In the Archive of Lidköping City You can find Gustaf Nybergs painter-test, which he made when he was about 20 years old.
The son of Johannes Nyberg, Carl Wilhelm Nyberg (also a painter) married Louise Andersson, daugther of inspector Janne Andersson at manor Ingelsby, Kyrkefalla. Louise Andersson?s sister Anna Bäckström (1853-1908)was my old-grand-mother.
My parents still have some furniture painted by the Nybergs, for exemple a grandfathers?s clock, a rocking chair and a great dining-room cupboard.

Urban,

I hope you will find this response. I have been away from this for some time but am hopeful you will contact me again. My gr gran Sofia Nyberg was Gustaf Nyberg's youngest daughter. Please contact again to continue conversation. It is most interesting to hear you know of some of the furniture they had painted.

I am wondering how to go about contacting the Archive of Lidköping City. I would like to find the painter-test of Gustaf Nyberg, which he made when he was about 20 years old. Would there be any information around about the shop the Nyberg family had in Kyrkefalla parish? How could I check further on this.

Any help with how I could go about this would be appreciated.
