Source of information is Bernard Deviller from France - he writes: Dear Mary Beth,
Jean-Baptiste BERNADOTTE, king of Sweden and Norway, choosen by King Charles
XIII, with no posterity, and swedish people, by friendship with Michel
NEY(both were generals under first republic and Napoleon) wellcame two sons
of Marechal NEY whose have served in swedish army but have never fought with
it because they wanted to be soldiers but not with Bourbon's family, King
Louis XVIII and King Charles X (both brothers of Louis XVI) whose have
condemned and executed their father Michel NEY. Bernadotte was married with
Desiree CLARY first fiancee of Napoleon
The 2 Ney's sons were the eldests :
- Joseph Napoleon b.1803, in Sweden from 1824 to 1830, married in 1828 with
Albine LAFITTE
- Michel Louis Felix b.1804 married in 1833 with Marie Josephine SOUHAM
Both returned in France in 1830 after that a revolution had abolished
absolute monarchy to replace it by a constitutionnal monarchy with liberal
ideas.
If they had had children in Sweden they were illegetimate unless Michel
Napoleon NEY son of Joseph Napoleon and Albine LAFITTE could be born
between 1828 and 1830 in Sweden?
Why not? we have no informations on him
Bernard
I do not know where in Sweden these men were. This is all the information I have to go on. Thanks, Mary Beth Ney Bearden aakede@bellsouth.net
