Nyberg, Sofia in Kyrkefalla Vastergotland

I am looking for information about a Nyberg family in Kyrkefalla. I believe the father is Gustaf Nyberg mother Lovisa Patterson ..any and all info would be wonderful. I am particularly interested in Sofia Caroline Nyberg born 5/23/1849-any siblings?. My data says she emigrated on 4-20-1872 but I don't know where from or the ship or any other info. Sofia was my gr-grandmother. She settled in Rockford Illinois. I would appreciate any info or help in knowing where to look for more info on the family in Sweden.

I don't see her leaving from Hjo on the Emihamn database of CD Emigranten, made from registrations with the Swedish port police before leaving Sweden. That probably means she left through a port in Norway, Germany, or Denmark.
 
There is a lady about the right age leaving from Skaraborg, however, and maybe this is your Sofia.I don't know why this record doesn't say she is leaving from Hjo, however.

She would have probably gone on a feeder ship from Göteborg to Hull, England. Then she would have boarded a train to go to a British port, such as Liverpool or Southampton and then she would have boarded the larger ship to go the rest of the way. The Landsarkiv in Göteborg can provide you with the name of the feeder ship and the travel agent, but won't be able to help with the larger ship.

I did check the household records and found the Nyberg family. I also used the EMIBAS-Cd and found that one more sibling - Anna Lovisa born 1838 also emigrated to Amerika.

From the records for births and deaths for Kyrkefalla parish:
Skaraborg, Kyrkefalla, C:5 Födde,Död 1837 - 1860.
On GID 986.3.36400.
 
1849, May 23 (Christened May 24) Sophia Carolina. Father Gustav Nyberg, Målare, Förpantningsinnehavare av Holsten.
Mother Anna Lov Pettersson, 42 yrs old.
 
Målare means painter, but I am not sure how to translate Förpantningsinnehavare. I´ll find it somwhere. It is some sort of ownership. Sophias oldest brother Nils Petter eventually becomes the owner of a place called Nyberget. He was in some way crippled, because there is a note in the household records that he uses crutches.
 
At the most the family consisted of:
Gustav Nyberg, born March 8, 1799, born in Kyrkefalla
Wife Anna Lovisa Pettersson born  April 1, 1807 in Bjällbo,
Nils Petter Nov 12, 1833
Gustav Emanuel (in a later record Gustav Alfred) Feb 6, 1836
Anna Lovisa Oct 2, 1838
Knut Johan Jan 13, 1842
Herman, July 5, 1845
Sophia Carolina, May 23, 1849
Source: Household records for Kyrkefalla. The children were all born in Kyrkefalla.
 
What happens?
Knut dies on Feb 18, 1850
The father Gustav dies Sept 18, 1851
Gustav Alfred sic! is an apprentice nearby.
Anna Lovisa and Herman move to Jönköping.
 
The mother Anna, Nils Petter and Sophia live together in the 1860 - 62 records. The mother dies Feb 2, 1870.
 
Anna Lovisa comes back from Jönköping just before giving birth to an illegitimate daughter Ida Josephina born Sept 21, 1863. There is a note of Ida going to Amerika Anna Lovisa moves somewhere that I can´t read. Sophia moves to Hjo.
 Nils Petter dies 1888-1889 (Can´t read it) and has no family.
 
I have not followed Gustav Emanuel/Alfred or Herman so what became of them I do not know.
 
I hope there is something new here.

Would any of the census records have a marriage date for Sofia's parents,Gustaf Nyberg b: 3-8-1799 and Anna Louise Petterson b 4/1/1807 Bjallbo?If there is a marriage record for them would their parents names be listed as well?

Gustaf Nyberg was born on Mach 8 1799, as you already know. The picure I send you is from Skaraborg, Kyrkefalla, C:4 Födde 1782 -1836, GID 986.2.9600. His parents are Jonas Nyberg and Maria Pehrsdotter.

I guess I rushed a bit and did not write March properly.  
 
This is is the info on Anna Lovisa?s parents. It is her birth record. Östergötland, Bjälbo, C:2 födde 1772 -1827. Anna Lovisa was born in the first of April and christened the third. Her parents were ( I think it says) organist Pettersson och hans hustru ?? i Bjälbo. I think I will post a quest for help in reading it.

I have continued the seach for parents etc of Gustaf and Anna Lovisa.
 
Anna Lovisa was number five in in the row of brothers and sisters. She had two older brothers and two older sisters and two younger sisters. There was a note about the oldest brother being weak. The youngest sister died at an early age. The father?s name was Nils Petter Pettersson and he was the organist in the chuch. He was born on August 9, 1767 in Horn? and died on Sept 5, 1813 of consumption. Place, Bjälbo.
The mother?s name was something like Hinreitte Mörtling. She was born in 1776 (June ??) in place I cannot read. (GID 273.6.93900)

Here is the marriage record for Gustaf Nyberg and Anna Lovisa Pettersson. They were married on May 23, 1831 in Kyrkefalla. He is listed as being a widower (Enkeman). The source is:Skaraborg, Kyrkefalla, E:1 Vigsel 1782 -1850. GID 986.4.53400.
