I am planning on traveling to Sweden from the USA for a conference in Dalsland in August. Could someone help me in planning to lookup two areas? The one is Hassleby and the other is Sodra Vi.
Any help would certainly be appreciated

I know that. I am coming in to Gotenburg but have no idea where to go from there. I would like to visit where my great grandparents were from. Hassleby and Sodra Vi.

Hello Leonard,
Good luck with your trip to Sweden.  Dalsland is in the western portion of Sweden.  Both of the towns you have mentioned are in the eastern portion of Sweden, primarily Småland.  Hasselby is close to Gamleby and Södra Vi is close to Vimmerby.  They are fairly close to one another, but you need a good map to locate them.

If you look at the above map, you will have Dalsland in the northwestern area, from just north of Uddevalla. Fargelanda, Mellerud, Bengtsfors, Ed and Amal are the towns in Dalsland.  
 
I live in Fargelanda and in an hour and a half I am in the center of Gothenburg when I drive there. That can give you an idea about the distances involved.

Västervik or Jönköping would be good towns to stay the night in and no doubt the local tourist office can give you maps, bus routes and timetables for Södra Vi and Hasselby or even the name of a car hire firm.
